In response to many requests, we produced this article primarily for those of you who for whatever reasonare thinking about operating an internet business out of your home.

The good news is that it is doable but you needto consider some realities first. While we will describe some of the complicated issues involved, we decided to include a quick and easy way to circumvent those complexities and quickly establish a profitable business.

From the standpoint of business, the internet represents an almost infinite market that can be reachedinstantaneously with a very low dollar investment. This alone was so attractive of course that everyonejumped on it and that created lots of competition.

This means that for the beginner, especially those with little or no working capital, you must find what iscalled a niche market. These are specialty markets that deal with specialty products.

The competition has made playing in the trees just too expensive, you need to findsome weeds/niches and that's where the money will be. You will discover that there are niches within niches.

With this in mind, here is the basic initial procedure to follow. Know what you want, what you enjoy, what interestsyou. You need to dial in your desire, the thing that turns you on, and then figure out how to translate thatinto income.

This isn't that difficult, be patient and let your mind chew on it for awhile, it will come. As examples;Think about accessories for off road vehicles if that is your passion. Specialty flys for the fishingmarket. Accessories for the RV culture. Do you write article? Sell them. There is a huge market for information products, reports, how tos etc.

If you're thinking about finding what is selling best and jumping into those waters, that's fine, just be aware that you will need deep pockets to deal with all the other people who have the sameidea, and the numbers are considerable and the numbers drive the costs up accordingly.

Getting A Handle On The Competition

Once you have an idea of what you want to market, the quick and easy way to see how much competition isout there is by punching in the appropriate keywords into a search engine like Google.

There are two important things to be learned from the search engines: 1) How many web sites are offeringthe same products, and 2) go to Google keyword tool to find out how many people have searched for keywords thatare relavent to your product. You don't want to sell a product that no one wants.

If you don't knowabout keywords, you better get up to speed quickly because internet marketing is all about keywords. Briefly,keywords are the words that search engine users type into the text box in order to find something they areinterested in.

Your business will have a web site and your web site will need traffic and your web site must have certainkeywords associated with it in order to get the traffic from the search engins and other sources of traffic.Make no mistake, without traffic, you have no business.
